On January 12 the Plumas County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously, 4 - 0 ( 1 supervisor, Kevin Goss, was absent) to rescind a ballot measure on secession from California, which had been scheduled for a vote in the June election. The ballot measure was to be used as an advisory vote to help guide board action.
Thank you to everyone who helped convince the board to take this action!
At the beginning of the comment period, SOJ supporters announced that since they had not received board support in regard to their efforts, they had taken a Plumas County declaration of support with accompanying signatures to the state legislature and no longer needed board action. After making the announcement, they left the board meeting. Board members discussed the pros and cons of the ballot measure then took a roll call vote to rescind.
